Whethan- Good Nights (June 2017)

This new song from Whethan is awesome. A super understated type of song that still manages to keep you interested. I can see this playing over one of those corny, oversaturated summer montage videos full of running around on the beach, swimming, probably a jeep with the top down, maybe a bonfire or two. Now that I think about it...that’s not a bad idea...hold on... I’ll be right back...off to film my summer...well first find friends...this might be harder than I thought...

Dzeko- California (June 2017)

After hearing a couple of Dzeko’s remixes I was really interested in how he sounded when producing some original work. While not terrible, this definitely doesn’t blow me away. I like the sound that he was going for but I think that the vocals are a little distracting. It’s in a weird middle space where the lyrics aren’t interesting enough to make you think and the vocals aren’t gonna blow you away talent-wise, which would balance it out. It’s pretty "meh" if I’m being honest.

Halsey- Now or Never (Slander Remix) (June 2017)

Well this song has been stuck in my head for a long time. I stumbled onto the original on the Youtubes awhile ago but was so distracted by the elaborate music video that I never put the song on here (a mistake I know). But when I heard the Slander remix it gave me a good excuse to write about it and how the original is going on every “you-know-what-kind-I’m-talking-about” playlist for the foreseeable future. I like the remix and how it maintains the same feeling (you-know-what-kind-I’m-talking-about) as the original.

Virginia Man- MUD TIRES (June 2017)

This is the first time I get to use this series for something good. Someone I went to highschool with, a super nice guy btw, is a part of this band that put out what I' assuming is their first music video. The song has a great mix of country, folk, and rock that I really appreciate. Hopefully the four of you that actually read this will check them out and show them some support 'cause they’re doin’ the damn thing.

J Balvin feat. Willy William- Mi Gente (June 2017)

J Balvin exploded in popularity by hopping on that Justin Bieber remix, no...not Despacito... yeah there was one before that....and yes the Justin Bieber Despacito was a remix. Balvin has turned himself into quite the star, I remember when he made his first few hits about four years ago and he just consistently made good reggaeton ever since. This one in particular, is one of the most original reggaeton songs I’ve heard. With the unique siren-like overlay and the familiar “dem bow” beat I can really dig this.
